Capturing the Pour
This focal-point installation at WUXU (GuangZhou) was designed to mirror the restaurant's essence, translating the fluid grace of their signature coconut milk desserts into a structural masterpiece. Crafted from thick bamboo strips that retain their natural nodes, the piece possesses a structural rigidity that I had to physically wrestle into place, using my full body weight to hold the reverse arcs against the wood’s natural tension.
• A Living Metaphor: The design captures the exact moment coconut milk is poured—a freeze-frame of liquid motion that anchors the 'New Chinese' aesthetic of the space.
• Sensory Harmony: Even before the soft furnishings arrived, the sweeping curves brought a sense of 'healing' stillness to the room, turning rigid bamboo into something that feels as smooth and organic as the desserts served beneath it.
