Su Rui Du Qing: An Exploration in Polymer & Porcelain
Coiling branches trace calligraphy across the air, Pale blossoms hold the scent of snow. Glaze pools like dew on weathered boughs, Ice cracks and jade adorn the new form.
The Process:
• Material Evolution: Over the past year, I’ve been immersed in the study of stoneware and polymer clay, leading to this suspended vignette installation.
• The Vision: The petal-shaped Ru kiln porcelain cups mimic the essence of blooming flowers. As an artist who rarely depicts literal flora, this piece represents my closest journey toward capturing their ephemeral beauty.
• The Medium: A fusion of hand-sculpted polymer clay and traditional porcelain.
